Although having a surprise wedding meant I couldn’t have an in-person wedding party, I did still ask friends to be my bridesmaids and join me in spirit. I wanted them to know that they are the most important people in my life, my most faithful and beloved friends. To honor them, I created this bridesmaids board, which was present at the ceremony. It is a mirror, because I see myself in all of them, and knowing and loving them has helped me believe that I could be worth loving too. And I wrote their names on it in Sharpie to represent how indelibly each of their names is written in my heart. Because I know them, I have been changed for good.
